'Ello Everyone!  Last weekend we had the chance to gather at the West Seattle Church for our annual Seattle Missions Day.  Jeff Shaw and the crew from the Church of the Undignified led us in an encredible experience of worship and service to the city and people of Seattle.  Each group experienced something a little different, and each have stories to tell.  How was the experience for you?  What does God teach you through serving others?  How did you interact with God and others in this experience?  How might these experiences carry over into your life at home and in the community you're from?

Let's share some stories...

What happened to July?

How is it already August 11?

Wapac has seen a busy and amazing summer, full of youth camps, weekly ministries, and the grand daddy of them all: NYC 2011 in Louisville, KY.  Nearly 50 students from across Wapac traveled to Kentucky to take part in the week with 6500 of our closese American and Canadian youth friends.  It was a week that will never be forgotten.  It changed us all.

Students, Leaders... Where did you encouter God this summer?  How did you grow as a group throughout the last few months?  Leave a few stories here for us all to enjoy.

Much love,

Aurora Church of the Nazarene has an exciting event coming up in on March 20th.  Invisible Children, an organization that informs people throughout the United States and the world about the longest running war in Africa, is coming to Aurora!!  One side of this war is led by a man named Joseph Kony who kidnaps children and forces them to commit horrible atrocities and fight his war.  Invisible Children mostly informs people about this war through short documentaries that they make about these kids.  When a new film comes out they have screenings of these documentaries all over the world.  On March 20th we have the privilege of hosting one of these screenings and meeting and hearing from one of the Invisible Children who was rescued by this organization.  This will surely be a moving, inspiring, and world view changing event for everyone who attends.  This event is open to everyone!!  So please come and bring your friends!

For a lot of folks in our country, the summer is a time to wind down and take a break.  Vacations, summer break, whatever it may be, it's the time to stop and take a break.  Not sure why that is, but for those of us in the youth ministry world, summer is when things gear up and get CRAZY.  Summer is the best time of the year because students are out of school, there's camping trips to take, mission trips to serve on, church camps to attend, and so much more... I love the summer.

What about you guys out there in WaPac land?  What has this summer meant to you?  What are your highlights?  Share some of your experiences with us!

Wapac.org is a work in progress, but we're gaining steam as we go.  I'd encourage each and every one of you out there to leave some feedback here... What's going on in your youth ministry?  What resources have you come across that have really helped you out?  What have you tried that you'll never try again?!!!  Let's hear some stories...  Let's walk through ministry together.

If you haven't heard about Main Event 2010: Game Day I hope you'll consider making this a part of your calendar.  It's an incredible opportunity for students to invite friends and build relationships through sports & the arts.  The goal is to have something available for every kind in your group.  Friday night we'll have Boarders for Christ in our parking lot and in our opening ceremony, and Saturday night we'll see Uganda's Invisible Children movement.  Both will be amazing examples of extreme faith and extreme life.  The purpose and motto of this event is "Extreme life only happens in extreme circumstances."  Hope to see you there.  Need more info?  Check out www.wapacgameday.com for more details.
